“Europe” Square Fountain Complex

The Moscow city government recently embarked on a major restoration program of the city’s most important monuments, including a central "Europe" square. The exciting design redecorated the square's fountains with dynamic LED effect illumination. This dynamic lighting was realized through the use Light Engines’ LED products, embellishing the fountain with rich colors imitating wild seawater.
The color spectrum and light intensity of LEDs change depending on the state of the aquatic environment, from placid green to intense white.
Light Engines products were chosen because they provide:
Weather Resistant – The performance specifications meet the requirements for use in wet and damp locations; ideal for use in close proximity to water. In addition, they are more robust in extreme temperatures than standard LEDs.
Low Maintenance– They provide a low maintenance lighting solution with an expected lifespan of at least 100,000 hours, approximately 100 times longer than typical incandescent bulbs.
Low Energy Consumption– They are a highly efficient source of light, they use up to 90% less energy than conventional lighting methods

Another fountain has been illuminated with Light Engines’ products in the center of the most famous of Moscow's parks and gardens, Gorky Park, the traditional central site for large-scale cultural events. An integral feature of the park is the musical fountain constructed to commemorate the Moscow Olympic Games of 1980. Unlike any ordinary musical fountain, this fountain now produces a multitude of different vibrant colors and eye-catching color-changing effects in response to variations in the amplitude and frequency of the musical tones.
The Moscow based lighting system company that designed the luminaires and provided the color control system, chose Light Engines products for a number of reasons. First of all, the light intensity significantly exceeds that of the considered competitive solutions. They can generate millions of stunning colors and are perfect for water applications with dynamic color changing lighting effects as they are very robust in extreme environments (cold and water) and generate rich, uniform color along the entire length of the illuminated area. At the same time these products provide a verylow-current solution with power consumption of only 6 V, which is very practical for water environments.
